8TURN returned to Paris on September 25, bringing their TRACE in Europe tour to La Cigale for an energetic night with their French TURNING.
The lights went down, and the first notes of BRUISE immediately filled La Cigale. The eight members appeared on stage looking focused, before turning that concentration into an explosive opening performance. The crowd, already impatient to see them, quickly followed their energy, filling the room with cheers and chants.
Although the venue was not completely full, the floor and surrounding areas were well occupied, with fans waving banners, dancing and singing along throughout the evening. There was a sense of familiarity in the room. 8TURN had already visited Paris in 2025, and this return felt less like an introduction and more like a reunion between the group and their audience.
That feeling had already been present during the press conference earlier in the day. Asked about what had changed since their first visit, the members explained that Paris no longer felt quite as unfamiliar.
“It feels a little like coming home”
one of the member said, reflecting the growing familiarity they now have with the city. They also spoke about wanting to experience more of Paris this time around, although their schedule left them with less free time than during their previous visit.
A stage built for performance
Once the concert began, however, Paris quickly became secondary to the stage. From RU-PUM PUM, WALK IT OUT and TIC TAC to WONDER, 8PM, Like a Friend and SKETCH, the setlist moved through different sides of 8TURN’s music while keeping the energy consistently high.
Close To Me was particularly enjoyable to hear live, while Electric Heart stood out as one of the performances that had been eagerly anticipated. The latter also offered one of the most memorable images of the night, as all the members lifted Kyungmin together during the performance. After his return to the group, the moment felt especially meaningful, while the audience responded with the same warmth that had followed him throughout the night.
The lighting complemented the performances particularly well, adding to the atmosphere without taking attention away from the members themselves. Whether performing their own songs or moving through the more demanding choreography, the group maintained a strong stage presence from beginning to end.
Their energy was also matched by the audience. Fans sang along throughout the set, responded loudly to the members’ interactions and kept the atmosphere lively between performances. Myungho, in particular, repeatedly played with the crowd and seemed to know exactly how to trigger another wave of screams.
Eight members, different sides
The return to Paris was also an opportunity for 8TURN to show more than their group performances. Jaeyun, Myungho and Yungyu each had solo stages. Then the unit stages brought completely different colours to the evening.
Kyungmin, Myungho and Minho performed CORTIS’ FaSHioN, while Jaeyun, Yoonsung, Yungyu, Haemin and Seungheon took on BIGBANG’s BANG BANG BANG. The group also performed ATEEZ’s BOUNCY, one of the night’s most enjoyable stages.
The presence of BOUNCY on the setlist was also particularly meaningful, as the song was chosen directly by fans. The TRACE in Europe tour, promoted by Kooky, was shaped by fan participation from the very beginning: fans helped determine the European cities through recommendations and the presale process, while presale ticket purchasers also had the opportunity to vote on the setlist. BOUNCY received the most votes and was subsequently included in the show.
Between performances, the members continued to build on their connection with the audience. They spoke about visiting the Eiffel Tower, trying French food and regretting that their schedule did not give them another full day to explore the city. They told fans that they hoped to have more time in Paris next time.
That desire to return was not simply a polite promise. During the press conference, the members admitted that they had initially been worried about whether Paris would be among the cities they could return to. With so many senior artists performing in the French capital, they wondered if they would really have the opportunity to come back. The fact that the city was ultimately selected by fans clearly made the return all the more meaningful.
They also spoke about where their motivation comes from. For some members, it is the energy they receive from their fans and the experience of performing together. For others, it comes from looking at their fellow members whenever they begin to lose sight of their goals.
That sentiment was perhaps reflected most clearly in the final moments of the concert. After roughly two hours of performances, interactions and special stages, 8TURN eventually said goodbye to the Parisian crowd before returning for an encore. The final farewell was simple, but the audience’s reaction showed how warmly the group had been received.
For 8TURN, Paris was no longer unfamiliar territory. It was a city they already knew with a crowd they had already met.
And perhaps that is what made this second Paris stop feel different: 8TURN were not introducing themselves to the city anymore. They were coming back to TURNING who were already waiting for them.
